Wow, that was a lot of rain! We had just over 200mm fall in Exmouth over the last couple of days. It doesn’t rain often but when it does Mother Nature certainly goes all out. Exmouth will definitely be a lot greener in the coming months. Today we woke to clear skies, the sun was shining and we were back out on Ningaloo Reef.
The past week prior to the rainfall has been just fantastic. The visibility was 20-30m and the Whalesharks have been out in numbers. We were even lucky enough to witness the mating ritual of two Oceanic Manta Rays. Everyone, including the staff were thrilled with our first manta ray swim for the season.
The Whalesharks have been pretty cruisy of late. They seem pretty interested in us too. We’ve had a couple of whalesharks swim by at the same time and a few that have done circles around our swimmers and the boat. It has been a magic start to the season and we can’t wait to see what the next week brings.
