Kings Guest’s Snorkel With Humpback Whales
Kings are very excited to share some of the first and most amazing pictures from our recent snorkel with Humpback Whales interaction right here on the Ningaloo Reef! Just last week a group of very excited guests experienced these extremely curious creatures whilst on our Whale Shark and Humpback Snorkelling Tour. Guests were left breathless after a pod of Humpbacks approached them and seemed to “show-off” right in front of them rolling about and showing them their huge white bellies. Just one of numerous successful humpback Snorkel tours here on the reef and one of many to come! The Crew on board said that it was one of the most amazing marine interactions they have ever experienced. The Humpback whales migrate from Antartica to the warmer waters of Exmouth Gulf and beyond to breed and have their young before returning to Antartica to feed on their favourite food Krill. The best months to snorkel with these creatures in Exmouth are August, June, July.
We have special permission for these tours
We have special permission here on the Ningaloo Reef to approach a Humpback Whale within 50 metres from our boat the Magellan. This is half the distance of any other whale watching cruise in Australia, allowing those not wanting to swim to also enjoy the whales as they display their playful antics and relax in the warm tropical waters of Exmouth.
Maxium of 5 swimmers per group
The swimmers (restricted group sizes to a maximum of 5 passengers per group) under the careful watch of their snorkelling guide, will slide into the water and approach the Humpback Whale within just 30m. This will provide you an amazing surface view of the massive bodies and fins of the whales as they move through the water, and perhaps experience their whale-song up very close too.
